Who is VEPAC?

VEPAC (Virginia Engineers Political Action Committee) is a statewide, non-partisan, non-profit political action committee (PAC) created in March 2005 by the Virginia Society of Professional Engineers (VSPE) and the American Council of Engineering Companies of Virginia (ACEC/VA).

What is VEPAC?

The primary purpose of VEPAC is to support political campaigns and candidates who fairly and adequately embrace positions that foster a healthy engineering community in the Commonwealth. Funds raised are used to research, select, and support the election of candidates running for Governor, Lt. Governor, Attorney General, the Senate and the House of Delegates. VEPAC solicits and accepts voluntary contributions from individuals and businesses who are supportive of engineering issues being addressed before the General Assembly and within state government. Candidate contribution decisions are made by the VEPAC Trustees who are appointed by the VSPE and ACEC/VA Board of Directors.

Why VEPAC?

VEPAC works to protect and promote in Virginia’s political arena the interests of Professional Engineers (P.E.) and engineering companies. VEPAC helps open doors for our registered lobbyists and provides us face time with candidates and incumbents at fundraising events. There are other interest groups who have agendas that run counter to the interests of Professional Engineers and engineering companies. If given the opportunity, they will encroach on the practice of engineering. This reality demands the necessity of a successful VEPAC in order to compete in the political arena. A strong VEPAC gives the engineering industry a stronger voice with elected State representatives.

Help us to ensure a strong presence of the engineering profession in legislative activities.
