TESTIMONIALS for In person P.E. (Civil) review course:
I
found out yesterday that I passed the Civil P.E. exam (construction discipline).
I appreciate the instruction and insight that you all provided. I think I
probably would have been lost had I not taken the refresher, and your
willingness to answer questions after the classes really helped. It was a
very well-run course.
----------
"Thank you very much for providing and coordinating the PE Review Course. I just found out that I passed the PE! After taking the test twice by studying on my own, I took the PE review course and passed. Just goes to show you, you should take the review course. Thank you for all your efforts."--Jason Musselman, P.E., Delta Airport, Richmond, VA (Apr. 2007)
----------
"I
want to express my thanks to all of the instructors and administrators.
Taking this review course assisted me in both reviewing material that I either
haven’t used in sometime or in some cases at all. All of the instructors
taught well organized and thorough courses and even deviated from supplied
material when necessary to ensure sufficient time was spent on the most relevant
topics."--Darrell
J. Leigh-Manuell, P.E.,
T. Y. Lin International (Apr.
2007)
----------
"I think what really helped me were the practice problems I had to work from the class reference books. They were so challenging that when I got into the exam and started working the exam problems, I found that the level of difficulty was far less then the problems I worked from materials and the practice problems really made me work the different disciplines from all angles to get a full understanding."--Brian Copeland, P.E., TIMMONS GROUP, Richmond, VA (Dec. 2006)
----------
"I’m writing to let you know that I passed the PE exam, which I took this past October and I have no doubt that the review course offered by VSPE contributed to my success! I really appreciate VSPE offering the review course and all the effort the instructors put into it. I took the PE exam before and studied on my own to no success. However, I found out about the review class, signed up, and I’m so glad I did. I think what really helped was that it was a whole group effort. Having everyone (instructors and participants) working together and participating really helped. The instructors were genuinely interested and really pulled for everyone in our class to pass the exam. Thanks again for offering this class."--Victoria (Tory) A. Bains, P.E., AES Consulting Engineers, Williamsburg, VA (Dec. 2006)
----------
"Just wanted to drop you a line and let you know that I passed the PE exam this past October. I appreciate your help and the effort all of the instructors put into the review course. I have no doubt that it helped me a lot."--Trace Higgins IV, PE, DJG, Inc., Williamsburg, VA (Nov. 2005)
----------
"I'm so thankful for the class! I really feel that I got my money's worth out of it. It gave me a much needed jump start on studying."--Maria Price, DJG, Inc., Williamsburg (Apr. 2006)

"I just wanted to drop you a quick line to let you know that I passed the PE when I sat for it in April. We just received notification on the State website yesterday.
I credit this course and the instructors with playing a major role in helping me pass. I did not major in engineering in college, I majored in biology and started working in the engineering field and have worked my way up, so I lacked some, if not all, of the academic background for the PE.
My biggest fear in signing up for this class was that it would be taught at a level that I wasn’t suited for. Mainly, that the instructors would assume that everyone in the class had sufficient background that they wouldn’t have to explain the basics. Of course, with me, that was not the case.
Every single instructor took the time to answer all of my questions, including the most basic. I think at one point Bill Davidge was about to pull out his hair when I asked him how to generate a moment diagram, but he took the time to explain it to me and after that, I had a very good handle on moment diagrams. Which served me quite well since one of the questions on the Morning Session was to generate a moment diagram. I credit Bill with getting that one right for me.
I’ve singled out Bill with an example, but I certainly don’t mean to leave out Aaron, Jim, Steve, Jerry and Becky. They all did a great job. Bill’s effort was typical of all the instructors and the example that stands out the most to me.
You’ve put together a fine staff for teaching this course. They were nothing but accommodating and helpful and all of them seemed genuinely interested and vested in seeing all the members of our class pass the Exam."--Lincoln K. Swineford, P.E., ECS Mid-Atlantic, Richmond (June 2006)
